Classrooms today are a training ground for passing exams, where the joy of learning is being sucked out and education reduced to a dry, soulless process of ‘delivery’ dictated by the demands of standardised tests, writes John Taylor in Aeon Magazine. He suggests that to learn how to think, students need Socratic dialogue which stimulates students to think for themselves.
